Data on this website

The data on this website are updated annually and currently cover the reporting years 2004 - 2008.

In 2008, the Group's environmental performance did not change significantly. In absolute terms the Greenhouse Gas footprint and the Energy footprint changed less than +/- 1%. In relative terms (per employee and operating revenue) the environmental footprint has decreased by 2% in comparison to 2007. Fuel consumption of the vehicle fleet rose in line with the size of the portfolio (no. of elevators and escalators maintained by Schindler).

Data scope and quality

Every effort has been made to provide consistent and accurate data. Based on past experience, the accuracy of the data has an estimated error margin of +/- 20% with exception of the VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds). These calculations are based on estimations and extrapolations, so the accuracy of the VOC data can deviate substantially.
