Although the economic situation deteriorated further, in the first quarter of 2009 the Schindler Group succeeded in clearly improving its operational performance.

Latest update of data

All figures have been updated and show the 2007 data as well as data of the reporting years 2006, 2005 and 2004.

The Group's environmental performance did not change significantly. In absolute terms the environmental footprint showed an increase, but in relative terms (per employee and operating revenue) it has improved in comparison to 2006. Fuel consumption of the vehicle fleet rose in line with the size of the portfolio.

Data quality

Every effort has been made to provide consistent data, a significant challenge when collating data from a diverse range of activities across 34 locations.

Based on past experience, the accuracy of the data has a tolerance range of +/- 20% with exception of the VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds). These calculations are based on estimations and extrapolations, so the accuracy of the VOC data can deviate substantially.
